June SOTM Blog Hop - It's Your Day to Sparkle

Hey! Can you believe it's June already? We have been having a very wet
spring so maybe June will bring some dry weather.

Meanwhile, there is 20 Consultants posting in this Blog Hop featuring the June Stamp of the Month~It's Your Day to Sparkle. It has several different uses including Weddings, Anniversaries and even birthdays. Hope you enjoy the different ideas as you hop through.

If you have come here from Brenda Lapp you are on the right track. The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way you'll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda Everitt.

Follow along by clicking on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

First of all, I used the June Paper Pack of the month- True Love and the colors this paper pack was based on for all the projects you see here.

I decided to make a two page layout and two cards. The layout background was stamped with the new background stamp set using Mint and Sage stamp pads. The hearts are stamped with the Ballerina Stamp pad.

Left Side of Layout
The flowers are water colored using the Ballerina, Sugar Plum, New England Ivy stamp pads. The Cake is Sugar Plum and Pewter. Stamp with the Black Memento first so the lines don't smear. The Layout design came from our Make It From Your Heart Vol. 3.- Pattern 19 (page 42 and 43)

Right Side of Layout

This card is made from the Make It From Your Heart - Vol. 4 Pattern 13 on page 30 and 31 with a little bit of tweaking. The circle and scalloped circle are cut from Thin Cuts. I stamped the Happy Birthday with Canary Stamp Pad on Canary Card stock for a background. Very simple card that could be used for a guy.

This card was made from the Make It From Your Heart Vol. 4- Pattern 9 (page 22 and 23).

I embossed the background on this card with the new embossing folder Flower Garden. The Squares are the stitched thin cuts. I stamped the corner of the cake on a White Daisy so I could watercolor and fussy cut just the flowers and adhere them to the corner with foam tape. The congratulations and sign are stamped separate and fussy cut and adhered with foam tape. I used the Sugar Plum Shimmer Brush to all the flowers on everything for the darker shade after water coloring them with the Ballerina Stamp pad.

This is simple to do~just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

Here we go!

For this card I wanted to focus on how fast and easy it is to make a card using our Complements. We have Complements to match every paper pack and this one goes with the Sweet Girl set. One sheet is chip board weight and the other sheet is stickers. I used the colors Ballerina, Sapphire and Pewter for the stamp inks and for the card stocks background and the lace.

I used the new lace thin cut to cut the lace embellishment and the scalloped pink piece is from the Complements. I embossed the White Daisy background with the new Subway Tile Embossing Folder. Unfortunately, this Thin Cut is on back order right now but will be available again early July.

Technique Hop - "Make the Cut!"

No photo description available.

Welcome to our Make the Cut! Blog Hop! All of the beautiful creations you see will be featuring the different creative ways you can use Close To My Heart's Thin Cuts or Die Cuts from our Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridges. If you have come here from Catherine Nowak you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way you'll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melissa Robinson's Blog.

For this blog hop we have 10 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations featuring the different ways to cut and decorate the dies on their blogs. This is simple to do~just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!
Here we go!

This card was cut with our new My Cup of Tea thin cut and stamp set, and the circle behind it is cut with the circle of the Shaker Thin Cut.

The flower on the front was stamped from the May Stamp of the Month- To My Bestie. I colored them in with the water color brushes and the ink from our stamp pads to better match the paper I used which is the new Sweet Girl paper pack.
This paper pack lends itself well to anything Baby Girl but I also wanted to show how the paper can also be used for adult female and even boys or men's cards and scrapbook pages.

Happy Trails is the stamp set and die cuts set that I used here. Paper is still from the Sweet Girl paper pack. I used the stitched circle thin cuts and the
regular circle thin cut to cut the two circles for the sentiment.

This card is still using the same Sweet Girl paper pack. I cut the flowers and leaves from the new Stitched Flower Thin Cuts. I used Sugar Plum card stock for the flowers, Fern for the leaves and Saffron for the flower center. I used Thistle to distress the edges of the flower, New England Ivy for the edges of the leaves and the Saffron for the center.  If you spritz the card stock with water it becomes more pliable and you can mold it and shape it into a more ruffled flower. I put a piece of the foam tape behind the yellow center after I used a flower tool to round the middle to make it look more rounded.

The Lace Border is another new Thin Cut. I had trouble with the new Doiley Thin Cut being stuck in the thin cut so, I used a piece of wax paper and it came right out. I used this same technique to cut the lace border and it came right out very easily. Layer the chosen paper or card stock first then the wax paper and then the thin cut and sandwich all between your acrylix cutting pads and run it through.

I really like this Sweet Girl paper pack. Very pretty soft colors!

This month we have 21 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

This stamp set is really fun. You can use this subject for Mother/Daughter or Sisters or Best Friends! Cards, Decor or Scrapbook Pages it will work for anything.

I made two cards using a method similar to Tim Holtz by putting my inks on a craft mat and spraying with water to bead up the inks. Lay the piece on top of the colors, pat it on down and pick it back up. You can do this several times until you get the look you want. Just be sure to use your embossing gun to dry each layer. I used Ballerina, Sapphire, Fern on this card. I stamped with the Black Memento. I used the same colors from the stamp pads and a water brush and painted the ladies. The paper is from the new Paper Pack called Sweet Girl.

The circle around the ladies is cut with our Shaker Card thin cut and the ruffle is our new ruffle thin cut!!!! This card is supposed to be a Mother's Day card but I decided the sentiment will have to go inside.

Everything with this card is the same except the colors: Glacier, Rasberry, Sapphire, Expresso. I colored these ladies with our Shin Hahn Markers. I used another new stamp set for some of the texture in the background. I cut a piece of our stencil sheet with a dots stencil and sponged expresso through the holes.

I also made a 2 page layout with some of the papers and colors of the Sweet Girl paper pack.

I used Sapphire in one of our spray pens with water and added spray to the White Daisy background. I stamped the flowers with the black Memento, water colored them with the stamp pad technique and water brushes and fussy cut them out. Some of the pieces are cut with our Close To My Heart Cricut Cartridges and thin cuts. I fussy cut a couple pieces from the printed die cut page that comes in the paper pack.

So welcome!  All of the beautiful creations you see will be featuring the different creative ways you can use Close To My Heart's products for details on your project. Here we go!

My technique was to stamp a subtle background with the Pewter stamp pad. The roses are straight from the pad and the leaves are "second generation stamped." To do this technique you ink your stamp with the color, stamp it off on a scrap piece of paper then stamp on your project. Makes it a lighter color.

The colored leaves and the flowers were stamped with Memento and I used the sponge dauber to rub the greens on. I used Fern and Sweet Leaf, also added a bit of Pomegranate. Fussy cut them with my scissors and added Clear Shimmer Brush.

The flowers are colored using the Sugar Plum ink and the Pixie for the lighter color. Used the Sugar Plum Shimmer Brush for the darker values and to give it a shine. I used the gold Shimmer Brush for the centers of the flowers.

The center of the leaf wreath is stamped with black and I added the Gold Shimmer Brush to highlight the little leaves. I stamped the image directly into the center of the leaf vine and then stamped another image on White Daisy and then fussy cut it and added it to the center with a pop dot.

The leaves of the wreath are colored with the Alcohol Markers starting with a light yellow green and highlighting with darker color of green.

The heart is stamped with the Pomegranate stamp pad and fussy cut. The circle of Sugar Plum behind the vine is cut from our Shaker Window Thin Cuts. I used the Complement Cardstock from our April Kit of the month called: Feels Like Home. This paper is great for many occasions- wedding pictures and cards, vintage pictures, anniversary pictures and cards and even female birthday. Love both of the stamp sets that were made for it also. I used the other one on an earlier blog!

I made two cards and participated in two different challenges. The first challenge was with the Case This Sketch and was due March 28. Here is the sketch.

And here is my card using our Color of the Year- Sugar Plum for the flower and one layer of the background paper. I used the Sugar Plum glitter pen to add some glitter and shading to this flower also. The gold shimmer brush decorated the center of the flower. I stamped the leave with the Fern stamp pad and fussy cut those and the flower out. The left triangle is a couple of the designs in the Stitched Quilt Shapes which is not available until the end of April. I also used Pebble and Pewter.

This second card was made for a challenge with the design from the Fusion Challenge. Click on the picture below and play along with us. Post your artwork on my Facebook group Making Pretty Things With Paper to share.

And the color scheme came from the Color Dare Challenge #335- Monochromatic Pinks. Click on the picture to go to the blog and play along with us. Post your artwork on my Facebook group Making Pretty Things With Paper to share.

I used Rasberry, Pixie and Ballerina. The stripe background paper is from the Something Fierce paper pack. I used the stamp pad colors and my clear glitter brush to paint the butterfly and used the gold glitter brush to add bits of gold to the flower center and edges of the butterfly wings.

When you purchase the stamp of the month on my website, you will get these two cards as kits included in some happy mail as a thank you for shopping with me.
