Valentine Cards and Birthday Cards!

Valentine's Cards are so fun to make! I really got inspired by a Christmas Card in a Paper Creations magazine. Was really fun to make especially when I can cut practically everything with my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge!

I used all Close To My Heart products. The heart stamp is retired I think. I stamped it on Colonial White cardstock with Cranberry Ink and wet embossed it 3 times to make it thick and shiny. I think I must have gotten some glitter in my clear embossing powder but, I thought it looked fine. 

There are 3 graduated layers of rectangle pieces I cut from the Art Philosophy Cartridge along with the card itself. The last 2 were cut with the scalloped edge. I misted the 3 layers with water and scrunched it up to wrinkle it. Be careful, its very fragile at this point and tears easily although I don't mind for myself. Smooth it out flat and let it dry completely. I took a hole punch around the scallops and punched the holes after the paper was dry. I used about 3 different stamp sets and the banner is cut from the Artiste Cartridge and the Medallion also.

Here is a round card I cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I also cut a second layer and misted it and punched the holes in. The top layer is stamped with the big medallion stamp and holes punched. The heart is stamped in Cranberry and is the same one as above. It's interesting how the color looks different on the White Daisy here vs the Colonial White above. The flower is 6 circles cut from the Art Philosophy misted, scrunched, stacked (while damp) and carefully held together with a brad.While it's still damp, scrucnch it to your liking (very carefully, it's very fragile) then let this dry completely. You can sponge color on the edges also. The leaves are stamped and fussy cut. 

Here is a couple birthday cards I made for 2 of our 7 grandchildren! Retired paper and not sure about the stamp sets. Colored with Close To My Heart Alcohol Markers. I don't have all the colors so used some of my regular CTMH markers to fill in. Trying to use up my stash!

2013 is here already!

Wow! It's January-2013 already! Christmas and New Year's came and went so fast. Looking forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for us this next year. The past year has been amazing! One of the amazing things that has happened is I have been blessed with making some new friendships with you ladies who enjoy paper crafting as I do.   I hope my old and new friends can get together with me at my All Day Crops this winter once a month. 

I am working on on-going Workshops or Clubs! One in particular that will focus on the Cricut machine and our 2 wonderful cartridges! Several of you have expressed an interest in getting your machines out of their boxes and using them. I would love to help you get started. I am very excited about what we will be doing and projects we will make centered around this wonderful tool!!!!! 

Another thing I want to start each month, is a beginner's Scrapbook Workshop or Club. I will be starting with the basics and helping you get going on those scrapbooks you  have been wanting to start. You will go home with a finished lay out to put in your album.

Something else that has captured my interest lately is the Becky Higgens Project Life Scrapbooking. I am really excited to get started on a Scrapbook in this mode. I plan to use pretty much all Close To My Heart products and will post what I accomplish.

I've been busy.........

I have been busy this past few months making lots of things using some of the Paper Packs from the Fall/Winter Idea Book. Thought I would share what I have been doing. Hope you are inspired!

This is a papier mach`e frame (from Michael's) that I covered with our beautiful X7160B Flirty paper. I had to pry it apart and reglue it back together. The round doiley at the left bottom side is cut with our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I cut it from plain Colonial White and stamped it with one of our background stamp sets called D1477 Universal Backgrounds Stamp Set. I just love what our stamps can do with a plain die cut.  Three of the flowers are cut by the Art Philosophy Cartridge and rolled up. The yellow one at the bottom is actually 6 circles cut with the Art Philosophy, dampened and crunched up and fastened together with a brad in the center. I got this idea from someone in You Tube but unfortunately can't remember her name. The key is cut from the Art Philosophy also. I cut at least 6 and stacked and glued them all together. I used Tim Holtz's Embossing Powder that eels like rust when you are done heating it with the heat gun. Love it! Everything else is Close To My Heart. I used our new Pigment Inks to distress the edges of things. The Pigmnent Inks won't fade so they are very wonderful for distressing and stamping on items that you make for Home Decor. I recommend using either our Liquid Glass or I have found Aileene's Tacky Glue works great to hold 3-D items together.

Here's a couple cards I made. The top card was cut with the Art Philosphy Cricut Cartridge. A couple of the cute paper buttons were cut with the same Cricut Cartridge and stamped with the B1408 Buttons, Bits and Bobs stamp set. I used the X7155B Avonlea Paper Pack for the paper. I really like how the colors lend themselves well to the snowman scene. That stamp set is C1506 Flakey Friends. I used our new Alcohol Markers to color it in and added some glitter with our Glitz Glitter Gel. This is actually a card I taught at a Gathering! If you book a Gathering this is what you get to make and take home with you. 

This card was made with the X7151B Footloose Paper Pack and stamped with a past Stamp Of The Month. I colored it with our Alcohol Ink Marker and fussy cut the leaves. The ribbon in the background is our Z1760 Bulk Burlap Ribbon. If you look closely to the center of the sunflower you can see where I added Almond Glitz Glitter Gel. Gives it a little pizzazz.
