The Last Hurrah!!!
It's been awhile again. This time I got busy taking care of my terminally ill Mom, and she passed away a couple weeks ago. Since I am the only child close by to take care of her I had to put my life on hold, including Close To My Heart. I will be forever greatful for this time I had to spend with Mom and take care of her and the resilience of my business to be able to do so.
I wanted to let you know we are fast approaching the Christmas Holidays and also the end of the month which also means the end of the Holiday Expressions. Everything in the catalog will be finished by Dec. 31. so if there was something you really wanted and hadn't gotten yet, you have only 3 more weeks to get it.

Wow! I sure can't keep up with this blog. Summer was huge this year with helping our son take care of our three wonderful grandchildren and having the other 5 coming and going for their weeks with us and camping with the family. What a joy they all are and we feel so blessed with having them here and being together with the family.
Today was our last day with our Son's children here before school starts. I took Miss Mya to a Salon and we had manicures and pedicures done by my dear friend Jeni Augustyn. This was for part of her birthday and for getting ready for her first day of school. If I can figure out how to get the pictures off my phone, I would share them on here. ugh! As we gathered up their things and packed them up, it felt like when our children left home, kind of an empty nester feeling all over again. Were sure going to miss them.

Cards!
For us, June is going full force!!!! Baseball games, working on finishing the office space (sprucing it up), spent a great weekend at the North Manchester University with a fun bunch of ladies, enjoying our time with our grandchildren and working on cards, scrapbook pages and flowerbeds.
Can I just mention with much sadness the retiring of 3 really wonderful Cricut Cartridges? That's right, these 3 cartridges Art Phylosophy, Artiste, and the Artfully Sent will be no more after the end of July or possibly before if they run out. Along with these cartridges goes the stamp sets that were made specially for them which you can see when you click on each one of the cricut cartridges. Although I use everyone of our cricut cartridges a lot, the Art Phylosophy cartridge is my favorite and I use it the most. It has every shape imaginable on it plus extras.

Can I share some cards I made with some of the cartridges.
This is a very simple card I water colored the yellow with watercolor paints. Then, I stamped the different background designs and cut the flower from the Artistry Cartridge. The leaves above and the base petals of the flower below are
stamped from the Pretty Petals stamp set.
The base flower and the leaves are cut from the Art Phylosophy Collection. The overlay and the top flower are cut from the Artistry Cricut Cartridge.
Both the cards above and below were cut from the Artfully Sent. The inner lining, the outside scallop, and (I think the corner filigrees) and the vines were all cut from the Art Phylosophy.
I stamped and hand cut the flowers and leaves from the Shower Flowers stamp set.

May stuff!
It's been awhile, a lot has happened here at the Metzger Ranch. Hubs had surgery, chemo and complications from the chemo. Everything gets put on the back burner for sure when one is sitting in the chemo room all day and hospital rooms. Now, he is recovering slowly but able to do things. We are more than grateful for his recovery! Let God be praised for His wonderful mercies in our behalf.
The month of May is here and with the rain and cold the first of the month I decided to redo the old cubboard in the kitchen we have had for 20 or more years. I chalk painted it and waxed it after we sanded it and Hubs cut the end off to shorten it. Making room for a new refrigerator.
This month is also the month all scrappers look forward to. I am so excited!!!! I figured out how to organise my stamp sets in Evernote. First, it is easier to go to the website set up your account and download it to your computer, then, you should be able to sync it to your phone and other techno equipment you may own.
Here is the video I watched. One thing I learned or can't figure out how to do is put them in chronological order but, then, I realized they don't have to be because of the way you set them up you put in key words and the stamp sets will show up. I will be putting them in chronological order in the box. Also, another thing I am adding to the information in Evernote is the number of the box they are in and numbering the boxes accordingly and I am putting each letter in seperate Notebooks (ex. A stamp sets together, B stamp sets together).
I will be using these boxes to organise my stamp sets. These are the large sizes but you may not need that big of a box. Here are smaller ones for stamp sets. Both boxes will also work for Embossing Folders.
I took photos of my stamp sets and added them into the note area for that paticular stamp set. Be sure and resize your photo. I put them on pixels and changed to 400x300. Nice and small but still able to see them.
